Aspen & Ash has added to its superb range of engineered wood flooring, Cornwall, by securing close ties to the famous Tregothnan Estate in Truro enabling the company to procure the estate’s beautiful English Oak. At our workshop, Aspen & Ash also currently have reclaimed Douglas Fir.

All our Cornish Oak is  sourced from the sustainable woodlands of Tregothnan Estate in Cornwall.

The  wood we use for our flooring is only from trees that are felled as part of the natural thinning process at Tregothnan and is associated with good forestry management.

The engineered wood flooring market is currently awash in cheaper less sustainable wood from often, far flung places, but we wanted  to source our wood locally so that we can preserve endangered rainforests and reduce transportation miles, therefore minimising our carbon footprint.

Cornish Oak provides a sense of warmth and individuality from the textures and grain of the wood.

This natural beauty can be contrasted against chic ultra modern furnishings or used to complement period features to great effect. ‘Reclaimed Douglas Fir: I would highly recommend this product. I have personally spent many hours sanding old floors trying to achieve the finish you get with this product.  Easy to install, nice wide boards, a couple of coats of water based lacquer and there you go a Reclaimed Douglas Fir floor suitable for modern day living with under floor heating.  Gorgeous!
